Jimmy Gownley is the New York Times best-selling author and illustrator of the eight volume graphic novel series Amelia Rules!, Jimmy has 13 Eisner Award nominations to his name, including nods for best kids' comic, best single issue, coloring, and lettering. Amelia Rules! Volume 3: Superheroes was the winner of a Cybil Award for best graphic novel. The seriesis a four time Junior Library Selection, and has been turned into a stage musical.



​Having written his first comic at age 15, Jimmy spent his early career successfully self-publishing his work. Beginning with Volume 5, Simon & Schuster/Atheneum acquired the publishing rights to the Amelia Rules! series.



Jimmy has been the keynote speaker at the annual Pennsylvania Library Association's conference. He has also been cartoonist-in-residence at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA, and the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco.
